Yeah I know but 43 ain't that old. :D

While talking with a Hemi powered 2500 owning co-worker this morning after breakfast at McDonald's, I heard another mechanic tell him over his Nextel radio that the only way my Cummins Ram could break the tires loose was to slam on the brakes. Well that's mostly true with my standard output Cummins but I felt a little insulted just the same. My buddy followed me when we left and pulled out onto the six lane. As I pulled out and across to the center lane, I nailed it in hopes of at least getting a minor squeak out of the tires. For some reason, it broke loose and the limited slip had both rears laying some stripes. Possibly due to 40psi in the rears instead of the usual 70psi. It even called for a little counter steering as the rear end went left!. My buddy said it made a little smoke on the right tire and then the left. Of course 40ft out it was all over and he was roaring past me with his Hemi and his tires howled like a run over hound (he's 47) but just the same, I've been happy with my truck all day!:D

Just wanted to share that!

Lets here it for the SO! I saw my first 3500 dually down at the lake the other day, an I commented to the other guy that was with me "thats a nice looking Cummins dually" as it drove by it had a Hemi emblem on it. And by the way 43 is not old that's what I keep telling myself since 44 is coming up soon. :D

Yeah that Hemi is a strong engine for it's size. Fine for a 2500 or 3500 within it's tow rating. But I don't think mine would take much to run with him empty and the 600 if producing as advertized should be able to take him stock. His truck is smooth, quiet (except for the exhaust and Infinity's) and 100% vibration free so I don't pick on him too much. The overhead computer tells the rest of the story. He averages about 14. 5 and I average about 18. 5mpg. :D
