Yeah I know but 43 ain't that old.
While talking with a Hemi powered 2500 owning co-worker this morning after breakfast at McDonald's, I heard another mechanic tell him over his Nextel radio that the only way my Cummins Ram could break the tires loose was to slam on the brakes. Well that's mostly true with my standard output Cummins but I felt a little insulted just the same. My buddy followed me when we left and pulled out onto the six lane. As I pulled out and across to the center lane, I nailed it in hopes of at least getting a minor squeak out of the tires. For some reason, it broke loose and the limited slip had both rears laying some stripes. Possibly due to 40psi in the rears instead of the usual 70psi. It even called for a little counter steering as the rear end went left!. My buddy said it made a little smoke on the right tire and then the left. Of course 40ft out it was all over and he was roaring past me with his Hemi and his tires howled like a run over hound (he's 47) but just the same, I've been happy with my truck all day!
Just wanted to share that!
