I'm also sittin' up at 6,000 feet, with a TST #1 Torque Plate. I've been back to the shop half a dozen times trying to get the fuel curve right, and ready to give it a stab myself. Every time the boys at the shop adjust it, it's either black on light accelleration with descent power, or light gray but gutless. I don't have an EGT on there yet (still gunshy on drilling and tapping my manifold), so I get a little buggy since I don't know if I'm cooking it or not (occassionally pull a 14,000 5th wheel, so I'm sure you can appreciate my concern). Any advice? Is it very difficult to adjust the fuel ratio?

PUT A PYRO IN IT!!

It's less nerve racking to drill and tap then to worry about frying your engine. Then worry about smoke control. My . 02.

I SECOND that! A few small metal filings won't mean jack after you melt down a piston or two. :--)
