Hello everyone, I have only posted a few times so I hope I do this ok. I have a 94 with a five speed and was driving to work a couple of days ago when I noticed a small amount of smoke comming out around the key. I was almost to work when I noticed this and was about to get off of the interstate. First thing I did was turn off the cruise control. That didn`t help. I felt under the key,on the lower cover, just below the key. It was hot there. I haven`t taken the cover off but intend to. I looked in my 94 dodge truck shop manual, and from what I can see all that is there is the ign. switch. I was going to pick a new one up but then thought I should do some further troubleshooting. I noticed on the way home that day that it didn`t start smoking aroung the key, it was afterdark and I didn`t have the a/c blower on hi. So if it only does it on the hi setting with the blower motor,is the blower motor pulling too many amps through the switch? I seems like to me it should be blowing a fuse before overheating a switch or wire. Sorry about this being so long, but wanted to get some of your opinions, and see if anyone has had this problem. Thanks for your time and replys.
