Drained the 6 speed yesterday. Old fluid looked ok but it had 47000 on it and was just not shifting like it did when it was new. Cleaned the magnet. Had some metal on it, doing its job. Sealed it back up and used Amsoil MTF and shifts a whole lot smoother now. We will see how the summer towing season works out with the new fluid.

I had Amsoil MTF in mine for about 6k.

Shifted well at first and eventually got just terrible after 5k or so.

Switched to Redline MTL but only have a couple thouand on that. Shifts better then the Amsoil MTF.

Not bashing Amsoil either, as I have it in my transfer case, diffs and engine.

You will like the Amsoil. I like it best so far. How much fluid were you able to put?

I got just a over 4 quarts in. And some on my face. :-laf Kinda awkward trying to fill the transmission.

Looked at amsoil, redline, and royal purple, all had mostly good reviews. Luck had it that the RP landed in my hands first, and so far it is great. Shifts nice. Not too many miles on it yet though.
