Just got a great deal on eBay... RanchHand front bumper for $177! It's an older model, in GREAT shape, but I am planning on blasting it and repainting. I am thinking of going with Hammerite Black, but I have no idea where to get it. Anybody have any other ideas? POR?

I was considering powder coating, but wanted to keep the cost down.

Thanks!

IMO, you can't go wrong with the POR-15. It's pricy, but indestructible. Top coat it with some ChassisCoat Black and you are all set.

Eastwood has some good coatings that are UV resistant (unlike the POR-15, which needs the topcoat), but these are not as tough as the POR-15. OTOH, the Eastwood coatings are available as aerosol sprays, which may be a little easier.

The Eastwood coatings aren't much cheaper though.

IMO, I would rather do it right and only have to do it once.

If you decide to look into powder coating go to http://www.customcoaters.com . I found a local powder coat shop that blasted and painted 19 pieces (front and rear bumpers, winch access door, grill guard, license plate frame, 4 brackets, 2 coil springs, and 8 bolts) for $250. Powder coating can be cheaper than you might think and it looks AWESOME and holds up incredibly. I totalled a cavalier with my front bumper and the paint wasn't even scratched!
