Need help w/ a Grainger part #

i recently bought a snap-on 18V impact and that thing is absolutely sweet as hell. I have removed and installed about 6 sets of wheels on one battery with life left over. i was so happy with it i bought the 18V drill as well. both tools are very good. i am a big Snap-On fan and do realize that they do not make the best of everything. i will say, they do make the best 18V impact that i have found, If that is what you are in the market to buy. Anyway, just wanted to say, that tool is what they make it out to be, tough. you will not be disappointed with it. #ad

i have had my 18v snap on impact for 5 years and love it, however it just crapped out last week and needs a new electric motor $89 not bad, heck of alot cheaper than a new one. by the way that was 5 years of daily professional use (abuse), i rarely used my air impact.

no, they actually use nickel cadmium batteries. my snap on rep said they were throwing around ideas about making AGM type batteries like the optimas for these tools. here is link to some good info about bringing old batteries back to life. i have not actually done this but seems like it would be good to try. i actually bought the link off ebay, lol.

i have done that battery reconditioning at work. . we have some pretty large capacitors at work [pop can sized] and i have charged them up through a resistor off the locomotive battery knife switch [64vdc] then zapped the battery to try and bring them back to life. . sometimes works, sometimes not. . costs nothing to do [actually i am getting payed while doing it :-laf]

I have the Milwaukee 18 Volt version impact driver (works great too) along with drills and saws. On the battery front since I am a contractor and use batteries up. I have been keeping the batteries to have them rebuilt when I got a notice from Milwaukee that certain 18 Volt batteries were being recalled. As luck would have it all 9 of the dead batteries were recalled. Sent them back postage paid and received back 9 new batteries. Now I almost have too many batteries. :-laf

CNC, can somebody doing what you do ever have to many batteries?

Wife got me a Black and Decker cordless tool set for christmas about 3 years ago and it seems to be working fine, my bigest problem is that since then we have been renting and I have not used them much and that seems to be about the hardest on the batteries, like auto batt, the more you use them the better they last.

I have the Snap-on impact for my rv and an Ingersoll lithium ion at work. The Ingersoll will out work the Snap-on but it is not available with a case or a car charger as the Snap-on one is. Both work well for pickup lug nuts. They both seem expensive until your along the side of the road without one. SteveinAZ

I have used mine for my dually and also for the 5er several times and love it. . also used it at the sled pulls to help other friends change out their rigs tires. . to do 3 or 4 sets of tires is a non issue for it. . :)
