Has anyone taken apart one of the Blue-Point dial indicators that come with the Snap on timing kit (SP500) for the 12-valve Cummins?
I just bought a SnapOn timing kit (ordered off the internet, not through a dealer) a few weeks ago, and I haven't used it yet. But I was looking at the dial indicator yesterday, and I noticed that the larger needle hits the smaller needle every time it makes a revolution past it. This makes the large needle jump, and sometimes it hangs up and won't return to zero. I emailed SnapOn but haven't heard back from them yet.
Is it possible to fix this, rather than having to ship the dumb thing back to SnapOn? Does anybody know if there's a way to take the front bezel and face off and push the stem of the smaller needle in, or is this a non-serviceable item?
Thanks for any help,
