Just got back from DD and I am very happy with the work done today.

Changed the chip in the Ultimate box(DD's) to the New competition upgrade and put in DDIII. 2's and removed the DDII's ;).

Picked up 22 hp and 44 ft lb's which doesn't seem like much but the competition chip is a HUGE difference. The competition chip change holds the power to redline instead of tapering off at 2700 rpm's which is worth 40+ hp. The difference in the new competition chip Only works on level 5 sublevel 5.

This deal hauls the mail NOW. :D

Thank you to the fine people at DD.

Changed my sig with the New HP.

Forgot the fuel line upgrade.

I want to chime in and give credit where it's due as well. Diesel Dynamics is an example of an AWESOME vendor that stands by their products no matter what. They DON'T make excuses, or refuse to answer email, or flat out lie, like some other vendors that I've dealt with have done.

I had a most excellent experience with Diesel Dynamics a couple of weekends ago when I went out there because they wanted to find out why my EGTs were so high, despite having an HX-40.

They went out of their way, and despite a scheduling error (I was scheduled on the wrong weekend), they still fit me in and got everything done in a short period of time. They found some small problems with my truck that were NOT their fault or the fault of their products, yet they corrected them for me.

The result is that my EGTs are now significantly lower, and the truck runs much better!

^^What he said.

I'm not to far from the ~400HP club,, but that 500HP club seems evasive,, since my truck sure doesn't sound like it likes my 340HP I'm pushing it to right now.

Not really sure if I am or not, not trying to be, I just love HP. I was getting use to the 460 hp. Someone will always be faster and have more hp. I just want to have fun and share this with the people here at TDR.

I know the boys at DD got 600+ hp in the P-pumped 24valve and their other truck inched me out by 7 hp. Donnelly has 600+hp plus.

All on #2.

DD is a class act and can't wait for the pump, head and cam. It is so nice to be able to get everything for my HP fix from under one roof.

Also, none of this would be possible if Bill K. (DTT) didn't make the correct parts to hold this power. 16000 miles so far with 6000 of that towing(7000lbs) at 350 hp.

I will be at Tulare and would be more than happy to take someone for a ride if they are interested in doing the same upgrades.

Well, the DD boys had made some 3's a little richer and they called them DDIII. 2's, I was kidding with them if they had some injectors that had a little more than the 3's and they told me they had some that they were playing with and I asked them if I could try them. They said that they didn't make more power than the standard DDIII's.

Also, they said that is the richest injector(DDIII. 2's) that would be streetable and they will not be a production item. The DD Mental injectors they make for racing used on the street would stall the motor in city driving but make more power at the strip or pulls.

oh I have seen

and test drove Bill Kondolays truck with supermental&reg

Man that SOB can lay a smokescreen with the comp box

Injecters alone are not too like any others at low boost

Especially with that 93% converter.

I was behind him pulling out of a hotel last weekend. . (LSTDR Rally @ Kerrville, Tx) Had my fog lights and headlights on, and everything,,,

This was about 10:00p. m.

He took off,, and me with Dual "sport" Briar Hopper Exhaust,, was gonna keep right up with him.

Well,, he floored it,, and I was able to just pull out onto the lonely road,, and couldn't hardley see 3 feet infront of me,, I had to let off the Go pedal and go to an idle in 1st gear,, wait a few secs,, then I found the reflective stripes in the road,, and by the time the road cleared, he was WAYY down there. We ended up eating at Diary Quenn,, was sweet,, Verlyn (Fast1) Stefan Kondolay, and Me were all eating out at the local Diary Queen.

Almost stock,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

We replaced the lines from the lift pump to filter housing and the filter housing to VP44. We used AN fittings which have no restriction in them. We have found that replacing the rubber line that goes from the metal line from the tank to the input of the lift pump yields no differences, so we don't mess with that one.

Gary,

Congratulations, you do us extraordinaryily valved guys proud:D It has to be a rush for that tweaked torqueflite to shift under max boost. When I consider stomp shifting my ole 5 speed, visions of

a driveshaft with barber pole stripes appear. I also like the DD injectors but wonder if your III. 2's are the old DDIIIm's or IIIa's? I've been hoarding a set of IIIa's but can't fit another truck in the stable.

Blue Chip's FMS really opened up the upper rpm's for me and I believe this is the key our future power increases. When on the dyno at Dave's they shut me down at 2700rpm (oversize tires) and at Scheid's we saw over five hundred horses but my tire were slipping (the left tire smoked more then the right one?). I plan to stay with straight diesel so believe it is safe to move the rev limiter up to 3800 or so. Do you have any ideas? I've got an extra ecm (Mopar Performance) waiting for Marco 's reflash but... ... ..... need more go power now;) I also see an 18cm turbo housing coming with future rpms. Keep up the great work!

The Boys at DD tell me that we are coming up to that wall rather quickly. The Head and the Cam that DD is coming out with will greatly help lower the EGT's and pick up some where around 50hp as we all know the closer we get to the 600hp mark the harder it will get to make hp without costing an arm and a leg.

As for the rpm unlimiter, I heard a story of a propane system go crazy and the motor (24v) spun up to 5200 rpms and all was ok. I think the head needs to be ported and maybe cammed to work at a higher rpm correctly. I was watching the tach yesterday and I can spin my motor to 3400!?!?!?! The III. 2's are a deal that they (DD) where playing with. No difference in power.

RRB, YOUR DEAL IS STOUT.

I wish they made a dodad that will loaded the auto transmission so it won't down shift by itself on the dyno. You know like a stick shifter. :D

#2 is the only way to fly. :D

NO DRUGS, THANK YOU.

Hey Gary C,

I'm in Lakeside by the Rodeo and would like to get with ya sometime and check out your truck. I have a set of DDIII's that will be here in the next week and a new lift pump that I will be installing. What type (ie size) of an connectors are you using? I'm not looking to do the whole Mallory thing if I don't have too. I'm replacing the lift pump because I have 9 at the output of the filter at idle, and can suck it down to 0 pretty quick with the PM3.
