I picked out an Airens Snowblower I liked (mother dearest paid for it :p )

Does anybody use a Protective Cab like the one pictured below? Is it worth $130 bananas? My grandfather had one on his '65 Airens. Last winter I was getting a face full of blowing snow more than a few times.

Never used one but there have been many times I wished for one especially with the powdery stuff we get in these parts.

Go for it!

Can be just as annoying as not having one! That fine snow that blows in your face will cling to the windscreen and block your vision. If you have any trees to go under, you'll hit them with the cab. With cab on the machine takes up more room in the garage etc. , etc. , etc.

My brother blows snow from the comfort of his JD540 loader cab. His blower is a home built blower powered by a 120 hp JD turbo diesel engine.

He drives a Power Stroke.

I'm thinking cab for my old Coast-to-Coast snow thrower, too. The engine exhaust is pretty bad let alone the poorly aimed chute..... but then again, goggles are cheaper.

My Western plow is just waitin for it to snow. When I moved out into the country I learned REAL quickly that Mother Nature can be cruel. A snowblower does not work out here where there is almost a constant wind. You blow it and it swirls around and lands behind you. A plow is the only way to go. Heated cab and a cup of coffee in hand!:D
