I lost my headgasket after running the 50/50 mix of water and methanol. I was running some cheap washer fluid for a few weeks with no issue. After going to the methanol, I saw boost of about 45psi and it kicked out. Perfect reason to get fire rings put in the block. Got it back and havent had any issues since. My motor is the ETC with a fuel box that has slightly milder timing, the DD UFM. No idea why it went, block and head were straight. Just picked the short straw I guess. Lots of people run the system with great luck in that dept. Jim Fulmer ran water/meth with twins and a stock headgasket for about 6months I believe. Im getting it on the dyno on May 7th to see what I got. Ill post some results when I can.

water/meth, and your eventual MACH4 combo will get toasty. It will also smoke like a freight train at your altitude. Look at replacing your HX35 hybrid with at least a B-1.



Your head gasket should be ok if you wait till engine temp is @ NOT before you stomp on it, and also keep boost < 45 PSI.
 
B1????

What is the B1?? What exhaust housing? Does it need a 4" downpipe? Does it have a wastegate? How much boost does it make? Will it work in a twin setup? Who makes it i. e. holset... ???
 
it is jim fulmer yes. I have the water/meth and run 65psi and have had no problems yet getting head done anyway so dont care and probably getting Poole to add a B2 to to my B1. The B1 is available in different combos it is a very durable turbo for high hp it comes non wastegated but you can get it with one as well internal or external I push 60psi with wastegate and no water/meth for a year now no problems just make sure truck is warm before you get into it or bye bye gasket but I would recommend to not Push it like I have.
