Looking for heavier front springs for a 2003 4x4 cc longbed 2500. I have yet to determine what is on it currently. Will run the vin and find out Monday.

I have read in issue 54 that the 52121623 AA is stiffer than the 52121621 AA and raised the front of the truck 1/2-1 inch. This truck was a 2006 Mega cab.

I looked at a 2008 3500 4x4 dually Mega cab and it had 51113985 AA front springs. Doing a search, the 52113988 AA are stiffer and raise the truck about 1-1/2 inches. That being said, Dodge has given me a list of the later part numbers that end with the numbers 977 through 988. Would this mean the 986 and 987 numbers are small increments leading up to the 988s?

What is the difference between the 988s and 623s?

If someone has a snow plow prep package, what are your part numbers?

Would like to go the Dodge spring route because I can get them for about $100 each at Dodgeparts4less and other dealers over the internet.

Thanks,

Kurt

I installed the 988 springs on my 02 and they raised the front maybe 1/4-1-2 inch at most. they are no longer or taller just stronger not allowing for as much sag as lighter springs. Many people here will say they are too stiff but I have absolutely no regrets on them and would do it again in an instant.

On most trucks they are staggered, because of the weight of the fuel tank I was told. Mine had 986's on the drivers side, and 985's on the passenger side.

There is a white plastic tag wrapped around one of the coils, identifying what they are.
