Snow Plow Prep package??

I was under the front of my truck and there's two 2X3 inch rectangle tubes bolted to frame rails below the core support. They stick straight down about six inches and they have two half inch holes thru each of them. I do not have the Snow Plow Prep package on my window sticker but I do have dual 220 amp alternators. There are no skid plates on the truck either. Any one know what there for??................
