Just finished plowing with my 1995 12 valve, 4. 10 and it is a bit underpowered for this work especially compared to my 2002 24valve. What should i do first to boost power and still not hurt the engine and transmission. Or better yet what would be the mods i should do to make a great plow truck. thanks

My recommendations in order
4k governor springs
Tune the AFC-smoke screw

Those two should get you a very noticeable improvement with out killing your trany. I could add a lot more to the list however that would involve increasing the hp which might kill the trany.

Unless youve got a plow thats over rated for your truck, Im not sure how you could be underpowered  Unless you wish to mod the engine anyways, I would just take your time. If you have to, run it in 4 lo for pushing the bigger piles. Adding horsepower just for plowing purposes is going to wreak havoc, Ive plowed with junk half ton carbed gassers in the past and got the job done just fine. :)

I would add a mild fuel plate. Your stock plate moved full forward may put you where you want to be. Since your plowing, I assume your truck is a 4x4. Are you plowing in 4L? 4L, w/ OD off, and 4. 10 gears should move the earth and save your transmission.
