I purchased a new Western Pro Plow when I got my '03 4wd Ram, and when they installed it they literally cut away my plastic airdam to make room for the hookup brackets. Is that standard procedure? Has anyone else had the same experience? I was miffed that they'd just go ahead and cut into my truck. It all works well, but I'm sans airdam and it looks weird without the plow in place. Does someone know a fix to the looks problem?

Should have bought a BOSS plow, IMHO. I did all my installs and didn't have to cut into the airdam for my under carriage mount. I think they did something wrong. Shouldn't have had to cut that. I'd call back and ask why they did this, and have them redo it and replace your airdam at no charge.

With both the 04' and 05' I had to remove it. Cutting seemed kinda half *****. IMHO just take it off it looks better without it.

Thanks, I went that route already. I had a 2000 Dodge Ram 4wd and had a BOSS plow for that one. You're right, they didn't have to touch my airdam for that, in '03 they changed the frame rails so I couldn't use my BOSS anymore. I went to Western because that's what the rest of my guys are using. I'll just have to look for a new airdam for when I sell the truck I guess.

You're right, it's just that, half*****. I'll have to see if I can get the rest of the plastic off. It'll probably end up sacrificing my fog lamps if I do that. My 2000 Ram had a BOSS plow and it didn't need any cutting.

I envy your setup on your trucks. I have an 8' blade and found out my stock diesel can easily handle a nine footer. Makes a big difference when you're trying to get things done. Is your Edge working as expected? I'm possibly looking at a TST.

I like the edge, but took it off because my trans was getting up to 250* while plowing  After I get a built trans, probably gonna get the tst, the 04' has one and I like the power a whole lot more. And the tst has more adjustability. 9/9 vs. 5/5. But for plowing the ez has the right amount of low end to really make things nice and smooth.
