The other day I posted That I was not happy with my fuel pressure gauge install. ( A. M. 2661 Electric) I had it installed at the injection pump and needle was bouncing around like a circus.

I then moved it to pre filter with better results. However it just did not seem as smooth as my other gauges. Still not happy I bought a Auto meter fuel restricter # 3277(snubber). I installed it today and now my fuel pressure gauge reads about as smooth as a EGT gauge. It moves just a little like the stock tach moves at idle no matter the throttle position. I'm happy for now. I would recommend a snubber for any fuel pressure install no matter what location. By the way, it cant hurt;) ;) ;)

Interesting

I have never experienced the erratic behavior that you discribe other than when my first pump went ( . ) (. ) up, the reason the pump failed , after I tore it apart, is because the spillback or re-circ spring had failed and the fuel psi was all over the place.

With that being said I would keep a close eye on your psi to the VP-44 as now with the snubber you will not see the rapid movment of the needle but will see it as being steady... ... ... ... . just make sure your psi is up to the job... ... ... . JMO, Kevin
