I'm sure this has been covered but I can't find the information even after some searching. Would someone please tell me or point me to a thread that would tell me what those holes behind the tiedown cleats are for? If their job in reality is to let mud and water enter the bed, they're doing a fine job. Suggestions for plugging them would also be welcome!

Thanks,

Dave

They are drain holes. My line-x did not plug them up either. Actually three slots, one on each corner and one in the middle. I am sure you can plug them with silicon or other water seal, but then you will have to make sure you get any standing water out of the bed.

I don't think these are drain slots. I also have the slots mentioned above but the holes I'm asking about are on the vertical sides of the bed, approximately 1/2 inch in diameter and behind the middle of the tiedown.

clearance holes

If I am not mistaken they are for clearnace when you put a hook tyoe device into the cleat, otherwise you would be wedging the hook up against the bed side... . Just a thought
