After three weeks and 5k on the clock it is impressive. The power is unreal. Not a heavy load yet with it but I can tell on some hills it just goes up them wthout a problem. The other truck, 06, 5. 9 with a g56 and 3. 73 I could tell it was working a bit. I pull trailers a lot and usually don't gripe about fuel, but this new truck is killin me. Gets about 10-11 pullin the gn empty. I am thinking and would give advice to someone unless they need a lot of power and towing constantly the 3. 73's in a new ho would be fine.

Can't wait till it get;s broke in a bit better. So far all I have done is change oil at 2500 and will change it again when I drive the 1100 mile to get back home. Did put a set of Michelin's on it. ;)

Okie

Okie, hang in there. Fuel mileage on our truck when towing our 16,000 lb GVWR 5th wheel (13'2" high; 102" wide) improved from 9. 2-9. 5 MPG when new to our current 10. 2 MPG once we passed the 6,000 mile mark. This is about the same towing mileage I got from the 2002 ETH/DEE 3500 that was bombed to 347/762 RWHP & torque with 4. 10s. That's running I-10/Loop 1604 from our place to Boerne, TX with the cruise set at 65 MPH.

Although it's popular to complain about the fuel mileage with these trucks, I really don't have anything to complain about.

My dually's mileage was horrible when new as well. I unplugged the EGR and picked up about 2 mpg. I also saw a drop in EGT's of about 200*. I don't know how well the new H. O's handle the EGR unplugging, but mine is fine with it :)

Thanks Rusty, That is good to know. I guess I didn't realize just how good the fuel milage was on the 06 till I bought this one. I still like it. One thing I am missing is my aux tank. That 110 gallons plus the oem let me pick where I bought fuel at. Paid 4. 21 in Florida today and it is 3. 82 at home.
