The National Football League will no longer allow players to kneel on the field during the national anthem, according to a series of updated guidelines released by the league on Wednesday.

“All team and league personnel on the field shall stand and show respect for the flag and Anthem,” reads the first bullet point. “A club will be fined by the league if its personnel are on the field and so not stand and show respect for the flag and the Anthem.”

Protesting is an individuals right. However, your employer can have work rules and you may have to protest on your own time.

My thoughts on this:

The Jets stated that if any team members want to kneel they will pay the fine.

When the fines are levied I think the money should go to a wounded/disabled/veterans fund. At least the people that supposedly gave them this right would benefit.

Maybe I am going Lunatic on this but I sent an email to Bill O'reilly about the fine money going to Disabled/Wounded/Veterans. He is the only person I know of that may be able to push something like that or know what to do. All I can do is try as I know he is a great supporter of Veterans.

I haven't watched a game since this protest stuff started. I don't miss it in the least and I can't believe how much time I used to waste on it.

I often wonder why nobody important complains about the way a bunch of foreign born players in the NHL act while the national anthem is being played. They stand around swaying, spitting and scratching their nuts while the song is being sung.

I wonder if its just because they are white, so they don't need to pretend to have the proper servile attitude some people expect out of a certain group of football players?

Not a NHL fan and all I know is they seem to lose teeth. Never watched NHL,NBA or Baseball.

That would solve a few problems. Keep the singer there also as it isn't a rock and roll,jazz or a blues song. There are some that sing the Anthem very well tho.

While I think protesting during the anthem is wrong, if the networks didn't televise the anthem then there would be no "stage" for these tinkerbells.
