Well up in NorCal its been raining on off and the mountains are getting some serious snow. The roads heading twards Reno and Lake Tahoe Highway 80 and 50 have been closing down on and off so its a gamble i have noticed less trafic heading up that. So i think business are feeling it being in the constrution field work has been slow this winter i have been siting at home since a week before Christmas . But its normal in my trade you always save money for slow times if you don,t your in trouble. I was hoping to get gauges when work slowed but since i don,t Know when its going to pick up again i can,t spend the money ,This bites  . Im looking at the brite side of it i get to hand out with my dogs and play on the computer and watch tv all day ;) . Bkenny

It really depends on where you are. The weather really varies in this state. I live near Eureka in Humboldt County. Our rain has not been heavy, just a little ahead of last year for total rain fall for the season. We have had some extreme high tides so the houses in King Salmon got some ocean in the living room a few times. 10 miles east of here there is plenty of snow. Record snow in the Sierras so the ski resorts are extremely pleased. Most of the highways south of US 50 and north of SR 58 over the mountains are closed by snow every winter so that's not unusual. Snow packs at the ski resorts can be above 200 inches during a normal year. Chains required on I80 and US50 happens every year, no big deal. No flooding around here so far this year. The media gets all excited over weather in Los Angeles and reports it like it's the whole state under water when it gets bad down there.

One of my Dad's friends died in the mudslide in Ventura County. Another barely made it out. He was able to dive in between two parked cars, when the mud came down it flipped a motor home over the top of him and created an air pocket. Too much rain for people who don't know how to handle it.
