I just installed my #10 plate and I'm hoping my stock clutch will hold up for a while. I haven't really hammered on it, but getting into it pretty good shoots my EGTs past 1200 and my boost up to 35 pretty easily. So far my clutch has held fine. Does it normally take WOT throttle to make it slip? The #10 sure makes a difference :D

mine didn't slip until I shifted a bit too fast one day... ... . never did slip in gear, only on fast shifts.

I found low RPM with ye ol right foot in it slipped it. If you hold off big fueling until the RPM gets up ... you might be ok. For a little while anyway. :-laf

4th gear was always the worst for me. Did you put the 10 in the stock position? I drive like an idiot so my stock clutch didn't last too long. :D My 10 plate eventually killed my OFE as well. I guess I had the 370's and 191's for the end of the OFE though so it doesn't count as much.

i didnt even have my 10 plate in when my clutch started to slip. but i guess some mild pump work from a bosch shop, timing, and a hook with a sled makes those stockers go  :{ :-laf my FE has since held up extremely well with my setup... . Oo.

My stocker had about 40,000 miles with an 11 plate, some heavy towing and some racing. I put a #100 in (a little more aggressive than a 10) and the clutch was gone right away. It would hold in 1-3rd if I didnt give it to much fuel on the low end. About 2000 rpm and up.

Just dont lug it under full power. If you keep out of full throttle until above 2000rpm, it will last mucho longer.

My Luk 13" cerametallic is holding up to the #100 superbly.

700 and 300 will begin to slip the stock clutch in 4th and 5th at low rpms. (max torque). Also a cold clutch and overheated clutch will slip easier than a clutch at normal operating temp. Above 2000 rpm when torque drops and horse power takes over, the clutch holds better. Pete at SBC told me all this and I have verified it on my truck. Bill

Thanks for the info, guys. I don't generally pour the coal to it at low RPM so I guess my clutch ought to be ok for a while at least :D

My clutch has 78,500 miles.

Last week I installed a:

*BHAF

*5" exhaust

*and slid the stock fuel plate forward.

Still held fine at all rpms, even lugging the engine at full throttle :)

Tonight, I:

*gutted the AFC housing

*put a "0" plate

*and installed a boost elbow in the wastegate hose

Now, it slips at anything past half throttle :{
