NO question, the floods in Houston are/were a tragedy. I suspect that several totally underserving 1996, 97 and early 98 Dodges were covered by water, and possibility totaled by the insurance companys.

So, how do you buy one at the appropriate discount. You'd have to remove the complete interior, flush all fluids and change, prehaps a couple of times. And be ready for the odd failure that could crop up in the future, but good deals may be possible for those of us willing to do the necessary work.

Any thoughts or input.

Thanks, Ronnie

Actually it's not the short term damage that you already listed that makes them write offs. All the electrics slowly corode, 3-4 years down the road all flood vehicles are useless. A quick soaking isn't allways fatal but any sort of time spent under water allows moisture to seep into all the looms, connectors etc. Most, not all, ins. companys will only sell flood cars to scrap.
