Isspro EV's are SWEET! They even have glass lenses.
Anyway, I have one pyro in the #3 cylinder where it was easy to tap and drill w/o chunks making their way into the turbo.
I talked to a diesel mechanic the other day that told me that he usually drills the 2nd pyro on the exhaust manifold just above the turbo (where #5 dumps in).
I asked him how long it would take to drop the turbo to do the job, and his response was that he doesn't. He told me that between the greased drill bit and the greased tap, there aren't enough shavings to make a difference.
I can't believe he'd do that on his own truck. I don't think I'll let him do any work for me after that and some other questionable things he said.
I did my first pyro with greased bit and tap, and also had a magnet next to the hole. I still fished a good amount of shavings out from the hole after I was done (with a magnet).
What are your thougts? Drop the turbo or gamble?
