From what I can tell just by glancing the camber/ caster is not adjustable or did i miss something?? The reason I ask is I hydroplaned last night at about 60mph and slapped the wall on the highway. Not a bit of sheetmetal damage somehow. But it took out two wheels and knocked my alignment all out. The truck doesn't pull to either side at all but the steering wheel is way off center. TIA for any replies

An alignment isn't gonna help. You need to find out whats bent. coud be a bunch of stuff. Check the tie rods, center link, idler arm, and everything else. Also, I have personnaly seen on my 78 Impala where everything else was fine, but the output shaft on the steering box was twisted. The splines clearly showed it when I pulled the pitman arm.

Good luck,

I have checked the thing all over and do not see anything that appears to be bent. The has a slight pull to the left. I fixed the two bent rims today and its going to the dealer for the alignment and whatever else it needs. I have a very good dealer that I trust will do the right thing :) I hope lol

It doesn't take much permenant deflection (bending) to throw off the alignment. The caster and camber are adjustable. You could have bent a lower control arm near the balljoint (likely) or even a spindle. If the alignment place is competent and you tell them what you did, they should be able to find any other problems.

Regarding "Dealer Alignments":

A woman in our office took her new (1200 mile) Toyota in to the dealer because it felt unstable above 65 (she is an engineer). She took the technician for a ride and he experienced it too. She left the car.

When she picked it up, she requested the alignment print out which also showed the correct specs. They told her one of the specs (they were all OK on the print out) was "way off" and they didn't know how they would fix it because they couldn't adjust it that far. They said it might have to go to a frame shop.

At this point she started thinking about getting out of the car with a replacement or buyback. The GM got involved and it was decided they would wait to see what Toyota's remedy was.

Toyota told them to align it. They said "Oh, I guess we didn't do something right". The dealer thinks they have it fixed. She is picking up the car now and we will see how it turns out tomorrow.

It hit the wall pretty hard with the left front, then the back came around and slammed the wall. Thank god they taper those things so the bottoms are wider. Otherwise I would be needing a whole new drivers side. Like I said this dealer has treated me as well as my parents very good for a long time now I will see what they come up with and post it

I hit a curb awhile back, and messed up my alignment.

I took it to an alignment shop, and they actually fixed it, it doesn't pull, or wonder. But,! If I turn to the left more than 1/2 of the way, it starts rubbing the wheel-well; At full-lock turn, the wheel rubs descently hard, but has done no more damage than a little plastic worn away, I am thinking of a 1-2inch lift to keep the wheel from rubbing. (this is not the fix, but will keep it from rubbing)

What I suspect what happened is, when I hit the curb I bent the frame, backwards. Or the A-Arms are bent, backwards.

Oh well, if things really get bad, I'l just convert my 2wd into a 4wd. :)
