What is the socket size for the front wheel bearing?

I have the factory tech manual could not find much on

doing front wheel bearing.

thanks RJ

LOL! It's a good thing I read the first response post before posting myself! After seeing that he stated the socket was a 1 5/16" socket I said, "huh?" Then I read your signature... Oops! [i. e. , 4x2 Ram]

For 4x4 it would be a 1 11/16" socket (I just verified this with my new Snap-On 6-point socket in the garage).

:D

Just curious, haven't gotten this far into my truck yet. Are the front wheel bearings a sealed bearing or are they packable?

Robin

Mtngoat, the second gen. 4x4s have sealed hub/bearing assemblies. My '98 FSM states the 4x2s use conventional bearing/race/rotor technology.
