Sold 12v found 03 Laramie Dually

I just sold my 12v today and I wanted to change over to a CR for the better interior and heated seats etc...



here is my dilemma.



I found an 03 Dually regular cab, laramie edition. 4wd

It has 56K miles on it.

It originally was an auto and it was swapped to a 6 speed.

There are some lights on because of the swap itself.

It has a few modifications but nothin much.



the truck is for sale under $15k.

My question is, is there a way to clear these codes up or if I bought this truck Id have to live with them... ?



I keep hearing about smartys clearing up codes etc but never really looked into it.

I would be concerned if say the Check engine light was on. I don't know where you live but emission testing is coming for diesels. I know that with a gasser if you have a ck eng light on, they won't even test it and fail you.
Another way is you just pull the lamps out.
I would sure have a SHARP TDR member or a GOOD diesel shop look the conversion over before you buy it. That would be small money well spent.

thank you for the response. There is no inspection in NJ for diesels as long as you register your truck over 10,000lbs...

If it were me, I'd just wait and keep looking for a truck that hasn't been modified like that. If you want a standard, buy one; same for auto. Reason why I'm saying this is because there are a bunch of these trucks on the market right now due to fuel costs, etc...



Just hang on. Locally, there was a guy trying to sell an 05 3500 quad cab long bed 4x4 that had about 30K miles on it, fully loaded. His price on Craigslist was about 20 grand. Awesome price.



And like the other post, if you do buy it, make sure it gets a real good inspection.
