I sold my beloved truck today. It was swift and sudden. I was made an offer and I took it. Next thing I knew some guy was driving away in my truck. I have been waiting for about three months to get 2004 orderd with a 6 Speed. Looks like it will be another 3 to 4 until I can order one. I bought a little Tacoma Prerunner for the time being. I still get to drive the 2003 so I don't feel too bad. That was the first of many Cummins and it was hard to see it go. Now to plan for the next one..... Here is the one we have now.

Congrat's on the sale. I know I hate selling stuff it's a pain. Why are you waiting for a 2004? Something to do with Calif. and emissions?

Greg.......

Buy an 03 out of state. We got a killer deal on the 02 in Texas, great dealer. That way you can still get the HO without the EGR. There is a trick with the DMV though. (I can help with that)

The good deals will be happening on the 03's soon. Only problem is finding one that has everything you want on it.

so if someone were to move to cali with one of these "illegal" trucks... what happens? They can't register it?

We have a local member that just purchased a 2003 HO out of state and he can legally reigister it here when it's got 7500 miles on the odometer.

Dresslered.........

Make sure he tells the DMV he just brought it into the state. You have to register within 10 days or there are hefty fines. We told them it was used in Texas for a temp job and then drove home. It's not like they didn't get their money out of us anyway.

Greg......

The other good news is you can swing by Freds on the way home and have him change the clutch, injectors, turbo and exhaust. Gauges and a fueling box would probably be a good idea too..... :D :D

You forgot the flatbed... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... .....

Did you have to pay sales tax in Cali?

Hey Greg, I'm the one that turned the guy on to your truck - I had mixed emotions about getting my buddy together with a truck that creams mine. Good luck with the new one when you get it.

Shame you didn't get a ride in his Mustang - it's no slouch (and I know how fast your truck is), although I think with the auto in the truck and his a manual you "might" have won the C note.

Greg,

Yup, had to pay Ca. taxes. Not in the state that sold it though. If you registered it in a state that had no sales tax for a year then brought it in here you might skate by. I'm sure tags in those states are pretty pricey though.

I just know we got the truck $2500 cheaper in Texas than we found anywhere out here. And we even have a freind who's a salesman at the local dealer.

Kiwi, Thanks,

Does he like the truck? After the test ride, No way would he race me. He bought it without even driving it. When he dropped us off that was the first time he drove it.

First you need to get the number$ $traight.

I spent $42,500 on the truck.

Paid on it for two and 1/2 years.

$701. 98 a month.

Drove it 20,000 miles and started bombing.

$8700. 00 later 426 hp and 859. 5 tq.

Sold it and put $5500 down on a new truck.

Got a prototype box on the shelf for it.

Guages will be in in the AM.

No exhaust is needed until 400 HP and I am not going there.

( I know I may eat these words)

As for adoption,

I do not need a money grubbing stepchild trying to jack me for my bombing dollar$. Sorry, Greg
