ok, as in previous threads, solenoid works if I do it manually.

relay, pulled it from plastic housing, pluged it back in and as long as I hold it, truck runs, second I let go stops.

Now, test light shows power to 1 terminal, heater relay has power to 2 terminals.

if only 1 terminal suppose to have power than relay, if 2 terminals

suppose to have power maybe blue wire to battery.

What you guys think, thanks in advance.

I assume that this problem is with your '97.

The way it is supposed to work is that the solenoid pulls up when the key is in start. It will stay up when the key is in run.

The relay is only in play for start not for run.

So if it will start and then dies when you let go of the key then the problem is NOT the relay. The three wire connector that connects the wires that go to the solenoid should have 12 volts on the large colored wire (usually white) when the key is in start. It should have 12 volts on the small colored wire with the key is in run. The large black wire is ground.

If you do not have 12 volts on the small colored wire then you may have a bad ignition switch. Or you may have a bad connection somewhere between the ignition switch and the solenoid.
