So real nice representation of a solid clutch fail, have seen a few but nothing like this. The spring ejected from disc and wedged between the pressure plate not allowing the clutch to disengage, so needless to say I drove home about 180 miles without a clutch, in light traffic. By the time I got home, I was getting pretty darn solid at finding the "sweet spot" :-laf

Fellow TDR member Nickaru helped me tackle the job, I ended up going with the SBC OKHD with the new flywheel, I couldn't be happier. I ordered through Thoroughbred Diesel and paid about $824 for both, also went with the Valeo Hydro setup, was a few bucks cheaper than the SBC and I feel the quality is just as good.

Regarding the swap, I learned real soon this baby is no VW and thought, ah heck no need to pull the transfer case, what's a little extra weight. After over 90 minutes of wrestling, transfer case was removed and the fact that you can get up behind the trans, wrestle and push without the weight shifted does make all the difference, we had it lined up in about 10 min. While I was in it, I also knocked out a leaky rear main and oil pan seal just for fun, but the wife is much happier when the truck is parked in the driveway not leaving oil spots everywhere.

Oddly enough the part no. shown on the clutch resolved to Ningbo Hongxie Clutch Co. China, so apparently the previous owner wasn't much into longevity or performance #@$%!

That's a huge discount including the flywheel over my g-56 version. The SBC hydraulics are quite a bit stouter than my old Valeo one.
