And it came from the TDR via E-mail from Rpatton.

Whats up with this?

I keep getting e-mail from Rpatton and RHarvey with the Text saying that I should go to a web site they are recomending, But There is no link?.

Norton caught it, But I dont know if its gone...

This is Not good...

EEEWWWWWW WORMS!!!!

No really There was an epidemic a while back as I kept firing up the "Odd" Posts coming from the TDR to warn members. That whole episode went to bed and a new has arrived. NEVER OPEN MAIL with the subject heading RE:

Man that isn't good nor is any worm at all.

If Norton caught it, write down the name and go to www.symantec.com (Norton's site) There you can find an encyclopedia of virus's, worms, etc. Sometimes they have a fix to get rid of a worm. I had Nimda (admin spelt backwards) for a while. I finally got rid of it. Nortons had a fix for it as it had changed my registry and I didn't know what to look for in there. All better again. I'm sure I passed it on to some people. It keeps life interesting.

Thanks Guys, For the replies.

Gary, Thanks not funny!... . LOL.

I found the name of the worm. Its W32. Klez. E.

I think i got rid of it... .

Doug.

I get a lot of emails carrying that virus and many of them appear to be coming from people I trust, like RPatton, mcbrideet and Stevest. The emails originate from foreign servers, meaning they didn't come from the mail servers that these folks use. That makes me believe that there is someone sending the virus tainted emails with malicious intentions.

Doc

The klez virus is primarily a network attacker, but it will automatically email itself from your computer too. It tries to spread through network systems, once it gets into a client computer. If it does get into a network, it spreads like crazy.

Doc

As Doc said the klez virus is a very intelligent one. I get an average of 5 emails a day with the klez virus in it (one recently from doctinker :) ). This particular virus masks itself with other addresses from your address book when it sends itself out. Therefore there is no way of knowing who it really came from. The reason many see it coming from rpatton@ix.netcom.com or -- email address removed -- is because there are emails in many peoples computers along with our addresses being in many address books. I can assure you that everyone at the TDR, and myself are well covered when it comes to viruses. Our machines are updated weekly with the latest virus updates from McAfee.
