I would like to know the backgroudn of these people. I have yet to hear of a buildup of distilers grains from ethanal. I use to work with a guy who drove a early to mid 80's VW Quantum that consistantly got 50 mpg driving it to work every day.

Anybody who belives that nuclear power is so wounderful really needs to do more research into the problems, what to do with the waste, the thermal polution etc.

I was reading where some Ohio State engineers have invented a biomass generator that is 2x3x3 and will charge a AA battery with having about anything put into it. EX leaves, grass clippings, possibly even food scrapes. They have kept the prototypes going for over 3 months. In the last year they have trippled the efficiancy of what they started out with. Am I saying this is the answer, no but is sure better than where we are right now.

:D

There are some good folks who would argue that there are much better uses for the distilleries of America than to produce alcohol for the consumption of an internal combustion engine.

Likewise, there are folks who would consider the use of fossil fuel burned to produce electricity a poorer choice when better options are available, allowing those fuels to be made available for vehicles to convert said fuel into clouds of soot. :)

All forms of energy conversion produce thermal waste. If unwanted, it's called pollution, though some conversions don't produce gaseous emissions since they are not of a chemical nature, they are on the atomic level. And all of these conversions produce waste. We all know about the NUCLEAR DEVIL because it's cool to read about... And expensive to transport and store. The chemical waste that exits the stacks and pipes, is now monitored, but for years wasn't... and it's disposal is free -wherever it lands.

Ever hear of the NIMBYs? California is full of them. (Not In My Back Yard) Can you imagine how many biomass generators will spring up around Rodeo Drive???? Oo. Oo. Oo.

I've got a solution to the nuclear waste problem. Encase it in some sort of concretion, put that in an impact resistant casing, and ship it to the sun on a rocket. Or we could just store in on another planet where it won't harm anyone.
