Some questions about compressed air supply

I seem to be in the same boat you're in, Doc, the air tank that came with my Grover air horns seems to be leaking... I've had leaks from Day One... eventually the compressor was running ALL the time, I had to unhook it.
I've been considering buying the Quick Air system, and their air tank. It would let me air up tires.

To my knowledge, there's no room to mount a converted A/C compressor on the 24Valve engines. I wish... the costs involved in trying to fabricate something might quickly surpass the cost of a QuickAir system or CO2 tank...

normal air horns run around 120 psi, train horns around 200 psi

Sounds like you might be considering putting on a compressor that runs off the engine... One possible source would be Therold Industries. They make a commercial compressor kit that is belt driven off the engine. When I looked into them some years back they had one for the 1GEN Cummins.
They offer a 4CFM compressor @ 125 PSI. They call the compressor system "Ready Air"
