Chevy guys are "TOUGH"

Arizona Hot-Rod needed

  1. How much pressure do air horns require to operate?
  2. Can air pressure be created by using vacuum?
  3. How much air pressure would be required pressurize a tank to 30 psi?
  4. How much backpressure is created when an e-brake is engaged?
  5. Are there any filters that remove dirt from air lines?
  6. Do you think there is room to mount a York A/C compressor on a 24v?
  7. What are the safety issues for CO2 canisters?

I seem to be in the same boat you're in, Doc, the air tank that came with my Grover air horns seems to be leaking... I've had leaks from Day One... eventually the compressor was running ALL the time, I had to unhook it.
I've been considering buying the Quick Air system, and their air tank. It would let me air up tires.

To my knowledge, there's no room to mount a converted A/C compressor on the 24Valve engines. I wish... the costs involved in trying to fabricate something might quickly surpass the cost of a QuickAir system or CO2 tank...

knew a guy with train horns on his 18 wheeler once.
LOUD<<<<<<<<<<<<<toooooo

how much pressure? not too much, don't know for sure.

normal air horns run around 120 psi, train horns around 200 psi
yes they can if you could hear in a vacume #ad

well I think this may be a joke but who cares if some one laphs right, but 30psi=30psi
60psi at 3400 is supposed to be max
yes
don't know what a york at compressor is or the last one.

Sounds like you might be considering putting on a compressor that runs off the engine... One possible source would be Therold Industries. They make a commercial compressor kit that is belt driven off the engine. When I looked into them some years back they had one for the 1GEN Cummins.
They offer a 4CFM compressor @ 125 PSI. They call the compressor system "Ready Air"

You can reach them at:
