I enjoy a wide swath of country, from Western Swing, to Hank Williams, to Buck Owens, to Marty Stewart, and really enjoy some Southern Rock like Marshall Tucker. An artist we saw live here in town was Daryle Singletary and I thought he was very authentic and old-school. At a dealer meeting a couple years ago we saw Darryl Worley, and I was impressed with him, as well. He took a fair bit of time to tell a story of how he had been shut out of country radio because he didn't conform to the new country sound. He also did a heck of a job on a few Haggard songs. I think there are quite a few artists who are the real deal, but it's hard to get much traction in today's industry. I sure hope it is just a cycle, and this half-azz rap crap, and rocker wannabes just go away.
