I got behind an 03 today, a white extra cab and on the rear window it said

I BOUGHT THIS LEMON

AT LARRY MILLER DODGE

and it took up the whole back window! I guess somebody's not happy with their new truck.

If it said "I bought this lemon" I think it's safe to say he ain't happy with the truck. Otherwise it'd say "Larry Miller Dodge Sucks" or something to that effect. Must be that underhood light that's missing... ;)

Was it gas or diesel? Some folks spend over $40k on a Ford and live half their lives in the service dept only to brag about what a great truck it is. Someone else buys a Dodge and calls it a lemon if the paint chips in a hail storm. Toyotas are perfect no matter how much they break. I'd like to know "the rest of the story". :D

I take exception to that. Toyota's do break. This xamn Tundra has breaks that shudder and shake, a drive line that vibrates and O2 sensors that fail every 40k and will NOT come out of the manifold. Plus the paint chips like dropping a glass on concrete and the whole package is over priced and handles terrible. Other than that the truck has been perfect for 48,000 miles. It will be replaced by a diesel this fall.

Hey Turbo, If you see that white truck again, stop the guy and tell him that I'd take that lemon of his hands. I'd even fly out and pick it up.

I had a 2000 Tundra for a year. Switched to a CTD 2000 3500QC 4x4 ETC auto. Toyota makes a good product but they don't have the truck thing down yet. I do like my 1995 Toyota Landcruiser :)

It was a diesel. It also had a sticker on the bumper that said gas is something you pass through your ass, not your truck.

The guy may really have a problem but from the other side of the fence and working in dealer service Dept's for 25 years some folks make mountains out of molehills. There are also folks that make lemon law/buybacks a game. Have known a few. They will hit every dealer in a area and chew service dept UP with complaints and keep records. Drive them a year or more and get them bought back and start process all over again. Dealt with several on Nissan and other makes. Some of these autos when sold later I knew for next 150,000 mainly trouble free miles with the next owner telling you best car they ever bought. Go figure! Had a Nissan owner that had done it on Fords,Chevys and a Nissan. When he hit us and we contacted rep he warned us. From then on when he showed up we were booked for days to weeks and later found that two other dealers were doing same thing to him. Ran into this guy in a Sears store on a Saturday giving floor manager a really hard time over tools. There are dealership junkies and make it a passion!Takes all kinds.

I've got a 2003 CTD that is a lemon too. Transmission and transfer case leave puddles where ever it's parked. Been in the shop 3 times and a new leak appears somewhere else in a few hundred miles. Hopefully Dodge will take this one back, if not I will go with the lemon law.

The Toyota comment was sarcastic. The only vehicle I ever lemon lawed was a Toyota. Never bought another. They aren't better... They're "in vogue". :p

I read somewhere that JD Powers was asked by a friend to recommend a brand of car for them to buy. He stated that based on all of their research there isn't much difference between any of the brands from a quality standpoint. Except he did say to stay away from Hyundai :p

Got to agree, but I think he is right about the narrowing of the quality difference between brands. In the 80's a Mercedes was built and you could tell the difference just by looking. Now it is hard to tell much difference between brands. Except Dodge CTD's compared to other diesel trucks ;)

BBurns you real have a problem and I'm sorry to hear that. What I was referring to was folks that don't like a design thing or spent more then they could afford or thought they wanted a econo box and just traded in a STS. There are some fruit cakes out there. I remembered a Dakota that was lemoned law by back with all kinds of kit does this and that AT times. Jumped into a year newer one and two weeks later was brought in and he said it DOES exactly the things other truck did. WELL what things you complained about 33 things as of last count on last one!

The lemon guy must be ****** off about the MISSING rear fender liners, instantaneous fuel mileage display, lighted passenger vanity mirror (his wife must be a pain!), light underhood and rear floor mats!
