And when I remove the old “flush” I have to lug it downstairs across the new carpet so I can get it to the “dooryard”......didn’t think that out real well...

Will have to take the tank off, bail out what I can and wrap it in a super heavy trash bag before beginning the journey......

Tip it into the tub (or showerbath) to flush out the flush. After that, stuff an old rag into the output. And quacktape it into a piece of old carpet. As in poker, a flush beats a one-of-a-kind [carpet], and think what might happen if you end up with a busted flush.

(To spare the forum more agony, I won't think of a rock-paper-scissors analogy.)

Somewhere there’s a picture of me sitting on a flush in my buddy’s “ dooryard “ during renovations. Not a pretty picture, but a picture none the less. We have dooryards here too. Just not a lot of folks left who remember when not every toilet flushed.
