I take that back (I will never see it all ..... EVER!)

Twas the night before Christmas

The people my wife is working for have given us a FREE vacation in Honolulu, Waikiki Beach.

As an encouragement for her to stay and work over the holidays, they are flying me and the kids to Honolulu (where she's working) and they are putting us all up in a Beachfront hotel, so the family can be together for Christmas. This is ALL free to us.

But the plane departs LAX on Sunday evening, I must be there about 5:00 PM. Because of the lateness of the effort, we could not find flights to get us there, and so the kids and I are driving, leaving early SAT AM.

I don't REALLY want to leave my beloved CTD sitting at the airport for a week. We get back 6:30 AM on the 29th of December. Is there anyone who can meet us, keep my truck safe, and then either meet us, or drop off the truck so we can have it when we get back? Also, I don't know my way around there at all... It would be most helpful if someone who knows the area can get us where we need to go.

I hate to impose... But if anyone can...

Thanks!

PW,

Use the ParkOne - http://www.parkonelax.com/ lot - right at the entrance (adjacent to SWA Terminal 1) to the airport - it's manned 24/7 & has a shuttle service that runs every 15 minutes or so. I've left my '96 & '00 there for extended periods of time w/o any problem. No offense, but there are much more expensive cars in that lot than our trucks - BMW, M-B, etc.

That's a long drive. Where are you overnighting?

If I still lived in Long Beach I'd take care of you - for a fee:D You wouldn't notice a few thousand miles on the odo would you?

Enjoy the trip,

Brian

Stand by Mark, while I try to get hold of my folks. Depending on how many out of town relatives are visiting for Christmas, they may or may not have driveway space for your truck. Sorry, but I do know that they cannot offer any overnight accomodations, because it's a small house, and they've turned a bedroom into a study. I have your phone number, I'll try to call you tonight while I'm at work. Otherwise, I'll post something when I get home at about midnight.

We stayed at one of the hotels down close to LAX. . and they shuttled us from the hotel to the air port and stored our car right there at the hotel. .

It makes it easy that way. . But those shuttle drives give you an 'E' ticket ride:--) :--) :--)

I'm willing to, but.....

As a matter of fact, I would be available to meet you, let you park at my apartment complex, drive you in with my '02 and EVEN pick you up at the airport on the 29th. BUT! I live 90 min away from LAX(to the east no less). With X-mas traffic I'm more like 2hrs away. If nothing better than me comes along, I'm more than willing to help you out. I know the way from my place to LAX like the back of my hand. If you need to get a hold of me, call me on my cell phone after 5:00 pm PST 909 261-8618 I might even consider taking a cold 12'er and fuel money as payment. :D

let me know!

I also used the hotel/shuttle plan that Rick spoke of at LAX. Only spent the departing night at the hotel, left the truck for a month and had a free shuttle both ways to boot. Many LA hotels offer this service, even ones far from the airport.

Thanks everyone... Arrangements have been made that get a couple of us Northwest Bombers together in LA.

Your help and advice is much appreciated, and been very helpful.

Take care everyone... see you all in the new year :)

Oh, and have a REALLY good Christmas :)

Whooee, long night at work! Mark, I'll send you a PM... when I wake up in the morning!

Just so y'all know that this has a happy ending, Mark will be parking his truck at my folks' house, about 15-20 minutes from LAX. My dad will give him and his kids a ride to the airport, and I will pick them up, because I will be in L. A. to spend Christmas with my folks. Mark and I have never met in person!

Long live the TDR!

... and to all a good night!
