Something is missing.....

On the top of my fuel tank, towards the back of the tank, there is a what appears to be a second fuel port. It is actually on a hump higher than the main fuel port. My problem is there is what appears to be a white neoprene 90 degree elbow that has nothing on it. When the tank is full, some fuel splashes out and runs down both sides of the tank.



My question is, what is suppose to be on that elbow????????????

I think that is supposed to have a plug on it thought they cleared that up on the 05's

Ah so, now how do you get your hand in there to slide on a nipple plug?

See this thread for details. On my 04. 5 shortbed truck, I got under the truck and found both nipples were exposed and had a lot of gunk around them. I connected some 1/4" hose to each nipple and then ran them into a "T" and then to a fuel filter ziptied up to the filler neck where its high and dry.

They are not supposed to be plugged but the heavy duty filtration kit will add some hose and filtering to those vents
