My 06 with about 35,000 miles on it has developed what I can only describe as a "tick" or very small tap that I can feel in the steering wheel and maybe the floor. It happens on smooth surfaces going straight or turning. I feels like there is just a hair of play somewhere, but I don't know where to start looking. Any suggestions? I'm hoping it's not ball joints at this low mileage or I'll be a little irritated!

same sensation on my 06, but i also feel it in the pedals. checked the ball joints and they seem fine. will be replacing the track bar bushings.

check the thread I started about spending 2k, the way I tracked it down was, scoot the seat up with my shoe off and put my socked foot on the steering shaft as it goes through the firewall while driving the truck, that was how I pin pointed the steering shaft being bad, several here suggested the track bar bushings, I replaced those, however I feel that a truck with low miles is unlikely to have a problem with these, unless you can visably see they are bad don't waste you time with it

Did the foot thing, didn't feel anything. It's weird that it seems that I can feel it in the wheel, but not the shaft. I hate things like this! It's like the squeak or rattle that can't be found.
