Something wrong with the transmission

My 04 is starting to shift really hard on me. It seems as if it searches for gears. Havent had any problems with it im just starting to feel the jerk. Is something wrong? Should i get it checked out? Everyone that rides in my truck says something about it so i want to see whats going on.

How many miles on it? Hows the fluid , does it smell burnt? The TPS might need to be reset to keep it from hunting. You can find alot of useful info on www.dieseltrans.com
