Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Somethings wrong

I was coming to a intersection to turn left and as I stopped the truck wanted to keep going like I was stepping on the throttle. I put it in nutral and it was idling fine but as soon as I put it in drive it would stall. This went on about 10 times and finally when I started it and put it in gear it lurched forward and ran. So I ran it through the gears and it seamed fine but when I came to a stop it was like I was riding the throttle again. Made it home but what the heck happened? I'm running a 99 2500

Sounds like the torque converter is staying locked-up; would be my guess.
