I'm putting stacks on the truck -- giving in to my 10yr olds constant badgering (that's what I'm telling the wife ;) ) -- I'm wondering how much soot I'm going to get on the 5th wheel. With my powered up 98. 5 I made more smoke towing then I do now; and with a turned down exhaust in the normal location I got a fair bit of exhaust soot on the RV so I'm also curious if it's any worse then the normal location. I suspect it may be less soot with turnout stacks turned about 30degrees outboard then running normal exhaust churning back under and over the camper?

My stacks are turned 45 degrees, and I get no soot on 5th wheel.

I pull it with box on now, especially after getting 4" exhaust. I originally started with leaving front pipe on, but saw EGT's too high with box.

Not sure if you're smoking more than I, as that would magnify your problem.

My stacks are not open tops.
