I am some what new to this so help please. Mine is a 2007 3500 FWD, I pull a RV, 16,000 lbs, and it's completely stock, does a great job. Until the tank gets to 3/8 and it seems to run out of fuel, always starts again after some cranking, long enough for me to find a fuel stop. I know Dodge has had lift pump issues and I know it could be a screen contamination issue. My question is how should I proceed, thought about installing a pressure gauge off the filter, or do I need to go ahead and drop the tank. Also if the pump is at fault what should I replace it with? Thanks again for any and all advice.

Any aftermarket filtration? Yes the screen can get loaded up . A gauge would be helpful to troubleshoot. The intank pumps are fairly bulletproof . Could have a hole in the flexible hose for the pick up so it's starts to suck air?

Probably should pull the canister and see what is going on. LP issues ended in 05 with the in-tank pumps, anything else was just bad QC or contamination. Biggest problem seems to be asphaltenes buildup almost plugging the canister screen.
