Fluid Changes For A 03 Automatic

I’m trying to install the isspro turbo temp monitor and the instructions are useless. I have searched and downloaded the wiring diagrams from the link on another post as well as downloaded some other shutdown timer install instructions. I don’t get it. Which wire counts as “the ignition switch” wire. It appears there are multiple contacts for the #2 RUN position. It looks like the pink/white wire, but the DTLS unit uses the pink/green wire??? Do all the other contacts go dead when the monitor keeps the engine running?

Man these are the worst wiring diagrams I’ve ever used. Please tell me the ones in the manual are better! (BTW I ordered a factory manual weeks ago, but they are on back order. Are they revising it or just run out of em?)

Brods, I don't know if the wiring has changed on the 3rd gens since 03 but I had the same question that you now have back then. There were several individuals who chipped in with useful advice and finally the answer I was looking for. I hope the following will be useful to you.

I do not know how to post links so here are the thread starters names, the title of the thread, and the date if the posting. If you go to the search function you will locate them. Each thread has useful information and as stated the answer to your question; if the wiring coding has not changed.

2. railroad94, 4-25-2003, Turbosavers

3. railroad94, 4-18-2003, Turbo saver install

I hope they answer your question, good luck, as I agree Isspro does a poor job with their install instructions, they are very generic and not brand specific.

Frustrated

Thanks for the reply. Those are good threads where I got the information I had, just not sure if it applies to the '05.

I don’t understand the ign switch on diagram 8W-13-20. It looks like during start the only #2 (run) position that is powered up is the circuit F1 with the PK/WT wire. Shouldn’t that be the wire to keep the truck running? What is the second little pointer on the fifth contact (the one with circuit T751 on #1 position) mean? Also wonder what happens to the other five #2 ignition switch contacts. Do they go dead? It looks like the fourth one operates the "DRIVE-FAN-RADIATOR", circuit F922. It is on diagram 8W-13-26 and spliced in with the wastegate solenoid. Do our trucks have an electric fan clutch? Is it fail on with loss of electricity? I wouldn’t want the truck parked and idling with no radiator fan.

Its very frustrating. Figured on getting the turbo monitor installed would be a piece of cake. Thought buying a kit for my truck would include some specific instructions, WRONG! Anybody with this installed on an 05 please help. Thanks.

If you went to the threads above, you found my notes with the wire colors for the '03--be aware that at least some wire colors changed for '04, but I'm not sure whether these particular ones did. The best bet is to compare the schematics from the '03 and your '05.

We don't sell this product, but the wire colors are probably real similar to our Engine Shutdown Timer.

Ignition: Pink/Green

Constant 12v: Red

You will probably also need to jumper a wire between the Pink/Green wire and the smallest gauge Yellow/Pink wire or you will get a cooling fan and wastegate code thrown. This is a new issue for 04. 5-05 and should not be an issue for those installing a timer on an 03/04.

Hey, I get P0477 and P0480 all the time (on my '03)! I'd just resigned myself to the fact they are permanent codes--it never occurred to me to attribute them to the TTM.

SP Diesel, thanks for confirming my suspicions about the fan. Though I'm not to keen on the idea of crossing circuits the DCX engineers when out of their way keep separate. Sounds like a 12v relay with enough contacts is in order. Then use the turbo monitor to pull the relay in to keep all the circuits hot and isolated from each other. No codes then. Maybe even put a delay timer between the monitor and the relay, as a fail safe, to shut the truck down after so many minutes of idling, regardless of what temp the monitor thinks it sees.
