Question on new Trucks

So now that the nicer weather is finally here I have been driving with the windows down. I have noticed a noise that sounds like a loose belt. The weird part is that it sounds like it's coming from underneath the cab back to the rear wheels. I don't hear it when coasting or idling but only when in gear (6 Speed) and moving slowly in a quiet neighborhood. It only happens when pressing the pedal for fuel. In other words when I let off the pedal and coast it stops. I made an appointment with my 5 Star Dealer but this AM it was cold (36 degrees) and I tested it again and no noise. Maybe I need to get it on the highway and get it really warm before it begins doing it again.

Any ideas?

When you say like a loose belt do you mean a sort of chirp or squeak? If this is what you are hearing then you have a u joint gone.

It was a U Joint

Took it in this AM and had it replaced under warranty. I know they have been problematic and driving around with my TST on 5/5 doesn't help. When I have to replace one myself outside of warranty I'll be looking for a more robust part. Any ideas on who is manufacturing a replacement that is stronger then stock?

I'm confused what they replaced. The belt? Some of us on here have had belts fail (shred) at very low miles, that's why I ask.

Sorry. I wasn't very clear. They replaced the U-Joint. I had read the threads about the shredded belts and at first was concerned that a belt was the problem. The location of the noise was more behind the cab which eliminates a belt. But that is what it sounded like.
