Does anyone know a good source for replacement tie rod ends? Not quite a year ago, I installed a Superlift adjustable drag link (#4040) to accomodate my mild 2" Skyjacker front springs. Since then, the tie rod that connects to the pitman arm is well worn causing a lot of play in the steering. I have contacted Superlift and they don't sell just the tie rod ends on the drag link; I would have to purchase the whole assembly again and the rep on the phone told me to try an autoparts store. I went to Carquest and they searched all day and no such luck in finding a matching part. The local 4x4 supplier suggested I put back the stock drag link. I didn't like the steering wheel being off center by 90 degrees and did not want to file out the master spline to reorient the wheel; I would lose some turning radius if I reinstalled the stock drag link. The clerk argued that wouldn't happen. I hung up the phone. Lastly, why would that tie rod end on the drag link fail in such a short time. Are there any other signs of component wear I should look for?
