2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Sourcing plastic window rollers

Trying to source a couple plastic rollers which are part of the window actuator. Local dealers say that the rollers are now a non serviceable item and can only be purchased as a complete window actuator. Rollers are made of plastic and probably worth 50 cents while a complete assembly is $200.

Any ideas?

MFlynn, go to an Auto Glass shop, or look in the phone book for an Auto Glass shop. Go in and show them what you need. When I worked in the Auto Glass business, many years ago, we could come up with an acceptable replacement for ANY roller ever made with the wide variety which was then available. Sometimes we had to drill and rivet to replace a particularily badly-engineered roller. I assume things have not changed all that much. the Glass shop might have to order something for you, but you should be able to get what you need.

It must be time for power window work. I got the same answer from my dealer yesterday. Any responces with definite info for replacements would be appreciated.

Why not go look around some good salvage yards for the parts you seek. I have a very good friend out here who has a couple of wrecks in the yard let me know what year your looking for and I'll see what I can do... ..... Andy
