South Bend Clutch????

What is the difference in the Con-O and Con-OFE??? What do I need with an EZ and 275s??? Do I really need a 13-1. 25???I tow very little. Its a 2001 4x4 5 speed 2500.

If I'm right the Con O is up to 400hp and the Con OFE is for 400hp to 500hp. If youtow very little then you can get away with the 12 inch clutch. It should work fine. The 13-1. 25 is for heavy towing and highly modified trucks if I'm right. Been a while since I looked at SB's clutches so I think these answers are right. Hope this helps Dshawhan

What dshawhan said. Con O up to 400hp and OFE to 500 hp. If you can afford it go with the OFE as it sucks to have it to do again later when your HP goes up and up and up and if you dont believe it ask around. HP is addicting and sooo easy on these trucks

I agree, I just went through the SBC thing. I ended up with the Con-OFE to be safe. Because let's be real... . it's not like we're just going to stop with the hp. Do yourself a favor and do it once. ;)

Very important

In choosing the right clutch it is very important to choose the clutch to match the appropriate horse power and work load. For example: The MU 0090 Con O and OFE are capable of handling the horse power and torque ratings provided in our listings, but if the truck is used for heavy hauling damage to the clutch disk WILL occur. The cause and effect is the 12 1/4" disk does not provide enough dampened area to absorb the mighty torque of the Cummins along with heavy hauling. These two clutch kits are fine for light towing and performance. If you are going to be towing in excess of 8,000 lbs. you must go with the MU 13-1. 25 Con O, OFE or FE. This will offer a clutch that will handle heavy towing with vehicles equipped with more torque and horse power then the stock trucks. If a 12 1/4" clutch is purchased from us, or one of our distributors, and gets destroyed at the dampened portion of the disk, warranty will not be granted.

Do not try and save money when it comes to choosing a clutch.

500 hp +

If your goal, is to shoot for the moon, and not blow-up somewhere in between, there is no such thing as enough clutch!! :D

I will be installing my fourth SBC clutch soon, and as technology for power inhancements increase, Peter of South Bend Clutches, has been pioneering improvements to our clutches not only, meeting the demands for power, keeping them affordable, and streetable and user friendly. . Not an easy task.

We are very fortunate, to have South Bend Clutches, involved in our "sport", as you know, this is a very small segment of their business.

I must agree Steve, it must be time for more power.
