OK,I was at the truck pulls at May Madness and all the trucks that were entered had Peters-south bend- clutch in them. Lenny Reed started off smoking his clutch and it started to come back at the end of the run. Then Sparky-kwik kurt- his clutch started to scatter sparks all over from the abuse towards the end of the run. What is AMAZING is that both trucks came back and made another STRONG run, then both trucks drove off after the event back to the hotels:eek: The next day Sparky raced at the drag strip:--) I cant believe how tough Peters clutchs are,I'm glad his is the clutch I chose to go with. True, Sparkys clutch may not be quite as good as new but it seems to be close though. That is one BAD A** CLUTCH!

I too have the SBC in my truck. It grabs and goes better then when it was new. I have not BOMBed my truck very much yet ( Edge EZ is all ) but I have to be careful when driving wet roads when getting up to speed.

Hope you enjoy your new truck.

See Ya

Chris

I entered the pulls in pahrump with the con-ofe, much to PETER's dismay. It's not always good to have the clutch builder in the stands ;) The clutch preformed flawlessly first pull 292' the second only 185' the clutch held fine I just wish Dodge/Dana made their pinion yoke tougher:D it sure would have helped in that last pull. The true test was Kurt ie: "SPARKY" I've never seen a clutch take that much and come back to pull again(or even drive off) then to drag race the next day. :--)

At the Drags I could not quite break into the 14's After about 8 Runs the clutch felt like new... . But is was time to drive home... Towed a 15,000 Fifth wheel yesterday and that definately slowed down my 1/4 mile ET's!! :D :D :D

I will be at the local track the third weekend this month... Going to add some HP before I go... Hoping for 14. 2 et or faster... . Kurt

Steve (HeberRam), don't be bashfull, you reached down in the seat of your pants and gave it your all!!;) If I am not mistaken you made a pull over 290ft. Not to bad for a first timer. Once the track started getting bouncy it got a little scarry.

All I can say is I DID NOT BUILD MY CLUTCHES FOR THIS!!!!1 You guys were triing to make me look good or REALLY BAD!! one thing I knew was the exit was just down the hill to the right for the fast getaway.

BUT HEY, we had a great time didn't we?

Peter

You may not have built the clutches for this purpose but the sure work good for it:D Remember the chatter I had on take off after the modified pressure plate was installed? After pulling the chatter is gone. I think I found the proper way to break in a clutch;) I won't tell too many people:D

Peter,

My truck was the bronze one with the shell and all the lights:D

I have the con OFE and I did 232 and 176' and on review on video, I saw 1 spark on the 176' run. I can't believe how great these clutches are. Mine is brand new but it never slipped big time and it still feels like new right now. Best $900 I ever spent on this!!!

Eric, The "Trick" to a good light Show is to:

1: Call Peter on (Pier's)Cell phone in the stands to tell him you are going to slip his clutch!!

2: Lock GO pedal to Floor

3: Pull using 4th Gear Low ( 1st pull & 3rd gear=286 ft) Slip clutch to get sled going... After sparks start then fully release clutch. . :D:D:D

What have I learned.....

1. Finally I know how to really slip the CON FE!! ;)

2. The best gear for us novices (Under Powered 500hp and less) to Sled pull with is 3rd Gear low.

3. Even with a little abuse the SB will still get ya off the track.

(Right? "TWISTY"J@NWC) ;) :D
