Can someone explain the difference between the 12 Ceramic button and the 6 ceramic button 3250 Dual disk. And do any of you guys have any experience with this clutch as far as feel, pedal pressure and performance and which on of the 3250 dual disks would be best suited for street use and some occasional drag racing. I just want to be able to take full advantage of my smarty above level 5.

Thanks,

Greg V.

I was told 6 button is fast shifting, 12 button is more heavy duty. I see mostly 12 button, come to think of it, I dont think I have every seen a truck with the 6 button

I have a 12 button 3850 DD. The only thing I dont like is the rattle the trans makes in fourth gear. I have solid discs, make sure what ever one you get it has the sprung discs. Less buttons mean more grab.

after many discussions with peter at southbend, ive been running a 6 button now for about 10,000 miles and love it. it shifts awesome. still not quite as fast when truck is in 4x4 but when its in 2wd its the same as my single.

6 button is primarily geared for the drag racer. Less weight so your sychos don't have to work so hard to match the speeds.
