Just put in a stock replacement SB. The clutch pedal takes a lot less effort, and a friend of mine wonders if I got the right clutch for the HO engine.

The part # is MU1947 con stock.

I will try calling Woody on monday.

Anyone know what the deal is?

Thanks

South Bend puts a lot of R&D into their clutches. I would say the pedal effort is due to the difference in qualify of materials.

They have Double Disc clutches that aren't far off stock as far as pedal feel goes.

You have the right clutch..... As mentioned above its the difference in materials that makes the difference

I just put an FE in mine and the pedal pressure is less than my older OFE. It seems to be holding fine. Don't worry about it.

We noticed this in my dad's truck as well... that was 35k ago, and no issues to date.

Yep, the concern was the pressure plate. Woody says they use the same one for all dodge apps, so I can't have the wrong one. Sweet. Like the feel, travel is gone, it starts to grab about an inch from the floor. . Love it.

Oo.

My OFE has been in for a year now and is holding great @ estimated 425 450 hp

Petal is softer than stock

Peter under rates them for what they will hold. I'm at 428. 1 HP and 1K torque and holding great :D

My FE is holding awesome. I've pumped over 588rwhp through this thing.

I've towed over 40,000Lbs with it, and have towed 23,000Lbs for nearly 800 miles on my "daily" tune at 516rwhp/1022rwtq. Not to mention the countless passes on the dyno, and numerous passes at the track.

This clutch has actually gone through two motors, :-laf

I love South Bend's. The clutch is awesome, but the Customer service is even better.

I've been told it's better to not even have to use customer service than have good customer service, but I've never "HAD" to use SBC's customer service. I've only had questions like you did.
